Waterlooians.ca is concerned by the vision for Northdale being presented tonight at Councillor d'Ailly's Town Hall Meeting, from 6:30-9:00pm at St. Michael's Church The Councillor plans to unveil his vision of Northdale. Residents of this area are calling on greater intensification and removal of the 75 metre bylaw, neither concept is reflected in the Councillor's vision for this area. Why is HUGwaterloo.com and the Northdale Area Residents Coalition not being allowed to present their concerns or speak publicly at the Town Hall Meeting?
The Provincial Place to Grow Act is destroying the Waterloo Moraine's source water, natural heritage, and threatened species habitat. The Act mandates 60% of new growth as urban sprawl on these sensitive lands and only 40% intensification. Due to the unique natural environment of Waterloo Region greenfield development needs to be limited and existing developed areas need to be intensified. Immediate rezoning for intensification of the Northdale Ghetto is a conservation solution for protecting the Waterloo Moraine.
Waterlooians.ca supports Hugwaterloo.com and it's coalition members calls for the intensification of this area and believes this issue will becoming increasingly important as the municipal elections approach. Respectfully yours, David Wellhauser Waterlooians.ca *********************FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE**************************
